ROVA

Rova is a multi-currency savings platform helping Africans at home and in diaspora save across different 3 currencies(NGN, GBP and USD). While the logo and core identity already existed, the brand lacked a cohesive visual system that could scale across campaigns and everyday communication.

My role was to evolve the brand into something more recognizable, consistent and memorable across every touchpoint.

THE WORK

Building a memorable fintech brand goes beyond designing a logo. It requires a system that people can recognise across every interaction, whether they're seeing a campaign, a social post or opening the app.

I focused on creating a flexible visual language that could support the brand as it grew. Rather than treating each campaign as a standalone piece, every asset became part of a larger system designed to make Rova feel familiar wherever people encountered it.

I expanded the existing identity by developing a cohesive visual system that included custom currency assets, gradient identifiers and an illustration style that brought consistency across digital touchpoints.

As the system matured, it became clear that while the brand had consistency, it still lacked a recognisable personality.

The marketing team introduced the idea of creating a brand mascot, and I developed Ruby into a fully realised character system. From her styling and expressions to her usage guidelines, Ruby became the visual voice of the brand—bringing warmth, personality and familiarity to campaigns and everyday communication.

Today, Ruby appears across seasonal campaigns, educational content and AI-generated videos tied to cultural moments, helping Rova communicate in a way that feels both engaging and unmistakably its own.
